The Sojeau Vineyard, thoughtfully cultivated by Denny and Thelma Peseau, is nestled on the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills, facing southwest, directly towards the Van Duzer Corridor. At 650 feet in elevation, the site overlooks the valley and surrounding farmlands from its perch on the steep hill. This aspect makes Sojeau one of our coolest sites, with acidity and aromatics favorably intensified by the intense coastal winds. The 15-acre planting of Pinot noir is divided into two blocks from which we get 20 rows in a cross-section, allowing us to share the full potential of Sojeau’s clonal depth and soil diversity.
Jeb Dunnuck: 96 Points
A deep jeweled ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sojeau Vineyard is lush with floral aromas of crushed flowers, raspberry coulis, a hint of blue fruit, and fresh sage. The most full-bodied wine in the range, it’s fleshy with ripe tannins while keeping a stylistic, focused frame and has great length and a mineral slanting edge. Drink 2025-2040.

Wine Advocate: 95 Points
Bright deep and elegant the 2021 Pinot Noir Sojeau Vineyard is scented of wild berries mossy bark cinnamon and shiitake mushroom. The light-bodied palate is silky and mouthwatering with concentrated fruit a sheen of youthful new oak and a long spicy finish. The wine gains detail and expression hours and days after the bottle has been opened so give it several hours in a decanter or a few more years in the bottle. Published: Oct 19 2023
