The wine offers more oozing richness and concentration in line with the character of the vintage with sweet cherry, blackberry, toasted cumin seed and pressed rose. The area is characterised by warm days and cool nights giving firmly structured wines. As such, large French oak barrels are used for ageing to encourage some oxygen ingress. A virile wine, the 2019 opens with smoky ash, incense and iron. The well-built palate broods with blackberry and black currants wrapped up in dusty, dry stony earth.
