Blackberries, dark fruit, tar, tobacco leaf and toast on the nose. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight and chewy tannins. Structured and flavorful with a deep core of dark fruit and some smoke. Bitter chocolate and black tea on the finish. Long. 50/50 Petit verdot and merlot. Try from 2023.

The 2019 Figlia is another forward, delicious, yet very age-worthy effort by Chris Figgins. On the nose, it shows off heady black current cordial alongside mocha, tar and anise and shades of green bell pepper from the Petit Verdot. Highly structured and plush with a seamless texture, it has a long way to go in the cellar. Try to avoid this beautiful wine for at least another year.

More Merlot-dominated, the 2020 Figlia has a floral, perfumed style while still bringing plenty of depth and richness. Medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, and concentrated, it has both red and blue fruits, lots of floral nuances, ripe tannins, and a great finish.
