English Hill Vineyard grows at the southwest edge of Sebastopol Hills, surrounded by expansive pasture and rangeland. Overlooking Russian River Valley and the Marin Coast, weather swings dramatically between continental and maritime influences.
In 2020 our half-acre of Wente Selection Chardonnay was hand-harvested on September 5th and yielded 3.4 pounds per vine. The fruit was whole-cluster pressed into seasoned French Oak barrels, aged sur lie 20 months and bottled after complete Malolactic Fermentation.
Notes: Bright golden color with saline, ocean aromas, including lemon and hint of exotic guava fruit. Citron and blood orange flavors with stone fruits, lilac and jasmine. The finish is youthful and lingers with delightfully savory, crisp topography
