Grapes from a single plot in the Galician DO of Valdeorras, near the border with León. Grown on slopes at over 2,000 feet. The grapes are handled with care, hand-picked, destemmed, and fermented at low temperatures. Without malolactic fermentation or yeast aging, it spends only 8 months in old French oak barrels to preserve its freshness and fruitiness. The result is a rich, full-bodied wine with intense aromatic and floral notes. Aromas of white peach, grapefruit, green pear, dried grass, and a bouquet of flowers intertwine with autolytic yeast aromas in this wine of great weight and a long finish. A wine that can age well due to its complexity, fruit, and acidity, but is ready to be enjoyed now. A high-altitude, high-quality Godello. The only project by winemaker Xurxo Alba outside of Rías Baixas.
