The 2024 Cabernet Franc has a solid ruby purple color of significant depth.  The hues have youthful garnet color.  The aroma is complex. This is a term I use when no one scent predominates.  Here we have black cherry along with wet slate and dried herbs all vying for top billing.  Our Cabernet Franc spends nine months in barrel where it develops a bouquet of roasted cashew and buttered toast.  This is a mid-weight easy drinking Cabernet Franc and its level of tannin is not sufficient to suggest aging.  This is not to say the wine is thin, quite the contrary it has a soft round mouthfeel with flavors of succulent black cherry, dried herbs, dusty juniper, along with a mineral note.  It just isn’t a Cabernet Sauvignon ‘wanna be,’ so the finish is soft and elegant with fully mature tannins.  I am anxious to try this with the last of the garden’s vegetables in a ratatouille.
