Offerus has always been the best value in St. Joseph, and in recent vintages it has gotten even better. Historically, Chave relied on friends with small production to supply him with grapes; now almost all the grapes come from his own Domaine, and his holdings are fabulous, coming from the east-facing slopes of the original historic St. Jospeh villages. It's no surprise that this wine is consistently the highest-rated Northern Rhone in Vinous for the price point.
